Project Christmas Cheer is a local volunteer, non-denominational outreach program established to provide Christmas holiday assistance to children and seniors in the County that have documented financial need during the holiday season. The program is administered by a Board of Directors, a staff of 2 coordinators, and approximately 30 volunteer application takers are utilized during the application and adoption period. Qualification for Christmas Cheer support is based on Department of Social Services guidelines. Initially established to provide Christmas gifts to area children through the process of the children being adopted from Angel Trees at area locations, it has grown to both providing gifts to the children, and meals or gift cards for groceries to qualifying adults and seniors. Individuals, businesses, churches, and community organizations have over the years provided financial support and have adopted children and families to ensure that all in our community can share in the joy of Christmas.
