Things like our excellent customer service in a fun, friendly environment paired with a huge selection of clothing, shoes, and accessories featuring something for everyone, has earned us the distinction of being one of Morehead City’s favorite boutiques for 20+ years! We so appreciate and love the support of our loyal customers and invite everyone to become part of the family! Come and experience the “Tassels Touch”

Iva Fearing

After graduating from high school, Iva worked for Wanda Bennett at Maurice’s Inc. After three years there, Iva opened Tassels Shoes at the tender age of 25. The only thing that she knew about retail was that she liked it. Iva faced the challenge of creating a successful business from the ground up with the same ferocity that she still applies to her everyday life.  With the economic turn down in the early 2000s Iva realized that, in order to keep the store’s doors open, she would have to sell additional products other than just shoes. Thus Tassels Boutique was born. To this day, Iva loves and appreciates the support of both her returning customers as well as her new customers. She is dedicated to providing the best customer service, merchandise, and southern hospitality to all who enter Tassels’ doors.

Martha Ruffin

Martha, a retired school teacher, serves as the store manager. She loves fashion and putting together outfits that not only look good but also make the customers feel good! Her favorite phrase is "you need to add just a pop of color to that outfit".

Amelia Covington

Amelia has worked part time for Tassels since it opened its doors. Her big girl job is a title research paralegal with Investors Title in Morehead City. Amelia, like the rest of our seasoned staff, will definitely tell you if it looks good on or not.

Brenda Rocci

Brenda is our resident Trends Guru. She is our go-to for trends before they are trends. She also does some modeling for us as well as serving as the store photographer and “selfie queen”!

Holt Smith

Holt is now (semi) "retired," but still our volunteer proofreader and resident jewelry model.

Tana Reynolds

Tana joined us this spring after relocating from Greenville.  She is a perfect addition to our team and a true customer service queen.  She is also the founder of Sea Salt Charcuterie.

Teresa Holcomb

No stranger to retail, Teresa brings years of experience to the Tassels salesfloor. She loves to help customers find the perfect outfit and often makes suggestions for other items that they might enjoy.

Hattie Jones

Hattie is the “baby” of our Tassels family but she does a great job with customer service and can “operate” the clothes steamer like a professional! We’re going to miss Hattie as she starts her college career at Appalachian State University but hope she will work when she’s home on college break.

Jamie Dickinson

Bringing with her 15+ years of retail experience is our “behind the scenes” Tassels girl, Jamie. With her quiet demeanor, photography skills, and t-crosser and i-dotter mentality, Jamie is the perfect person to assure everything on the website, App, and all paperwork is current and in order. We are lucky to have her as part of the Tassels team!

Rhonda Butler

This NC Triangle native has been living on Atlantic Beach for several years. A retired real estate agent, Rhonda enjoys working with people and is easily identifiable with her easy going, helpful personality. When Rhonda is not at Tassels you can find her gardening, cooking, or spending time with her friends.

Shay Pellerin

Hailing all the way from Arizona is Tassels’s “short stack” Shay. Shay is always willing to pitch in and help no matter what the task. She’s friendly and always smiling. Wife, mother of two, and grandmother of three, Shay has her hands full but we’re glad she takes time to be a Tassel’s Girl.
