Community Spotlights

Community Spotlight: Share the Love Carteret County
Iva Fearing
Share the Love Carteret County is a fun way to support local small businesses while giving back to the community AND having the opportunity to win one of four gift baskets valued at $440 each! Here’s how it will work: Pick up a punchcard from one of the participating businesses (available Feb.11). Between the dates of February 11th and 28th visit all ten businesses and have your card punched. There is no purchase necessary but purchases are encouraged as your way of supporting the local businesses- many of which donate a portion of their proceeds from this event to local charities. When the card is completely full, simply drop it off at one of the participating businesses. After the completed cards are collected from all of the businesses, 4 winners will be drawn live on social media on Friday, March 2, 2025. Winners will be contacted about location for gift card basket prize pick up. We hope that you will give and receive LOVE by sharing in the fun!

Community Spotlight- Gloria’s Hallmark Shop
Iva Fearing We love to highlight local businesses but we really love it when the business has been in the same family for so long that we see generational change in its leadership! Such is the case with our own Gloria’s Hallmark Shop in Morehead City. This beautiful little shop provides its visitors with a bounty of gift ideas, toys, puzzles, and of course, the always popular Hallmark Cards. Started in 1978 by Miss Gloria herself, this icon has been serving both residents and visitors alike- always with a friendly, helpful, and welcoming staff. After Miss Gloria, the gauntlet was passed to her daughter, Lisa who runs the store with the same grace that her mother did. If you haven’t checked out Gloria’s Hallmark in the Cypress Bay Plaza, do yourself a favor and prepare to be impressed!
